I do not take her with me when I travel, no matter how much I would like to. Long flights, connections, endless paperwork for animal transport… I would rather not put her through that. And honestly, I do not want her to feel my stress either.
When I am away, Freya stays with my parents or close friends. Of course, I miss her, but as long as she has enough toys, attention, and something to chew on (she chews everything except concrete and metal 🤣), she is doing just fine.
Sometimes I call just to hear her bark. I think she knows my voice through the phone, even if video calls do not make sense to her. Dogs understand us through scent more than sight.
Now we are back together again, and summer feels extra warm because of it. 💋🐾
